Privacy Policy for Tab Time Machine

This privacy policy explains how KJR Labs ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information in relation to the Tab Time Machine Chrome extension.

1. Data We Collect

Tab Time Machine is designed to work entirely on your local computer. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to our servers.

The extension saves the following information only on your local computer using the browser's built-in storage:

• Tab URL: The web address of the tabs you have open.
• Tab Title: The title of the tabs you have open.
• Favicon URL: The URL of the small icon associated with the website.
• Scroll Position: Your vertical scroll position on a page.
• Video Playback Time: The current time of videos you are watching.
• Form Data: Text you have entered into forms (inputs and textareas) on a page.

This data is necessary for the core functionality of the extension, which is to restore your tabs to the state you left them in.

2. How We Use Your Data

The data collected is used exclusively to provide the features of the extension. It is stored locally and is only accessed by the extension running in your browser to restore closed tabs. We do not have access to this information.

3. Data Storage and Security

All the data listed above is stored using the chrome.storage.local API. This means the data is stored securely on your machine and is not synced across devices unless you are logged into a Chrome profile with sync enabled (in which case Google handles the encrypted syncing).

4. Permissions Justification

The extension requests the following permissions:

• storage: To save your tab states locally on your device.
• tabs: To get information about your open tabs (like URL and title) and to create new tabs when you restore a "ghost".
• contextMenus: To provide a right-click menu option to quickly restore the last closed tab.
• activeTab: A standard permission for extensions that interact with the current tab.
• <all_urls>: This permission is required for the content script (content.js) to run on all websites. This is necessary to save and restore your scroll position, video time, and form data on any page you visit. The extension does not use this permission to read your browsing history or data for any other purpose.

5. Pro Version and License Keys

If you choose to upgrade to the Pro version, you will be redirected to our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy. When you enter a license key, the key is sent to our secure backend server to verify its validity with the Lemon Squeezy API. We do not store your license key on our server after verification. The "pro" status is saved locally in your browser's storage.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page. You are advised to review this privacy policy periodically for any changes.
